About the Library Instruction Center

Location: Thigpen Library in Gallatin, Room 226 (second floor)

Capacity: 34 people, 30 computer workstations

Use of the Library Instruction Center

Purpose

The Library Instruction Center in Gallatin is used by Vol State Librarians to teach classes and individuals how to research and use library resources.

Hours of Availability

The Instruction Center is available for use Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am - 8:00 pm and Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm during the Fall and Spring semesters.

For summer hours and availability, contact librarian@volstate.edu.

Primary Use

  1. Classes using library resources under the guidance of a Librarian.

  2. Special sessions or workshops led by a Librarian.

Secondary Use

The Center may also be used by Vol State instructors bringing their class to the library. Reservations will be accepted no sooner than 5 business days (1 week) in advance. Library led instruction sessions have priority use of the library instructrion center.
