The Library Instruction English Curriculum was developed to provide a "scaffolded" and streamlined approach to teaching research to English Composition students. This curriculum is to ensure that all students have the proper foundation for college-level research and to minimize the occurrence of repetitive sessions across English 1010 and 1020.
Individual sessions may address only some of the learning objectives below, depending on the nature of the assignment.
- Students will be able to develop an initial topic for the research paper.
- Students will be able to select 2-3 appropriate search terms in order to search library databases to find sources for their research paper.
- Students will be able to select relevant and reputable sources.
- Students will be able to identify different source types and select the appropriate type for their information need.
