Literature Online is a reference resource for English and American literature. The database has scholarly journals, reference resources, and books. You will find literary criticism, reference resources on authors and their work, full-text poems and novels. This ProQuest database is also referred to as LION.

ABELL = Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature
A criticism search can be limited to ABELL. An ABELL limited search retrieves citations, abstracts, and full-text articles. Remember citations and abstracts cannot be used as sources in a paper.
The ABELL icon identifies records from the Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature.
Only "Full Text" or"Full Text-PDF" retrieve the complete article. No full-text link means no article.
The Document URL associated with a resource found in Literature Online is the permalink. This unique URL easily takes you back to your source again. You may need this URL for your source citation.
Where do I find the Document URL (permalink) in LION? The Document URL is included in the MLA citation and on the Abstracts / Detail page for the information source.
